Steffie Limère

Head organizer and co license holder

Steffie is the head organizer and co-license holder for TEDxOdense. She started as a TEDx organizer in 2014, where she ran a university TEDx event: TEDxEAL. After 2 great TEDxEAL editions she and Adam decided to take it to a city level, and so TEDxOdense was born. Besides TEDx, Steffie runs her own event company, Unfolding Events, where she works as a freelance event manager and works on events such as Thinkers50, Schunk Expert Days and her own event concepts such as Factory of Imagination.

I got introduced to TED through my dad when I was 17. He would send me links to TED video´s that I had to watch. Stubborn as I was, it took me some years before I took his advice. Since then, I fell in love with it. I then started as a volunteer at a local TEDx and discovered the TEDx magic. When I moved to Odense I saw there was no local TEDx event yet, so I took the opportunity to start one.

I wanted to bring the TEDx concept to the city of Odense, and it is my absolute pleasure to work with so many talented people from around the world to bring this very special event to the city for the very first time.

Alina Strihhartsuk

Audience Experience

Alina loves beautiful things and she thinks that craftsmanship is a main principle of a great design. Alina finished BA in Multimedia Design and Digital Concept development, but quickly realized that her heart (and hands) belong to design of everyday objects. Therefore, now she is studying MSc in IT Product Design, where she does everything from sewing to soldering. She follows the idea of Human-Centered Design and Design Thinking.

TED talks have always been a great source of inspiration for me. To be honest, I admire people’s bravery and desire to share stories of their life and spread ideas. However, it is even more admirable how much work and energy organizers are spending to create those events. For me it is a big challenge and huge privilege to be a part of core team, and contribute my design skills into TEDxOdense.

Theresa Kittendorf

Head of Audience Experience and Volunteer Management

Theresa studied business administration with a focus on services in her Bachelor’s and then started to gain some working experience in different areas of Human Resources in Berlin, Germany. After traveling and exploring some new places on the globe her mind and heart made her want to go someplace else again very soon. That’s when she decided to move to Odense to meet new people and to start new projects next to a Master’s program in Brand Management and Marketing Communication.

The first time I can recall to have seen a TED talk was in one of the classes during my bachelor studies. Since then I think TED and TEDx Talks are one of the best videos YouTube has to offer. Watching TED Talks to me means being inspired by other people’s experiences, researches, personal stories and their courage to share all of that. When I saw the ad for the core team right after I moved Odense I thought this is the perfect opportunity to work on something I can be passionate about. TEDxOdense will be my first live TEDxEvent and I am very pleased and excited about being part of a gorgeous team that is devoted to spread ideas that are worth to be heard and inspire others.

To me Ted is a beautiful way of expanding my horizon, being inspired and keeping the curious child inside of me alive. I first got introduced to Ted talks by a close friend and since then have been fascinated by the new perspectives the talks offer. At the same time I have always admired Ted speakers for their passionate and captivating speaking skills. Joining the core team in Odense is a great opportunity to apply my marketing skills in a creative environment with passionate and inspiring people.

Diana is a robot engineer with an interest in human psychology and cognition. After graduating in mechanical engineering, she also finished a master degree in robotics and automatic control. Professionally, she has a passion for robot perception and artificial intelligence, being able to develop her interests on a daily basis by working as a robotics developer.

I've started following TED talks in my early twenties, as a result of my genuine interest in human cognition, psychology and technology. I feel honored and privileged to be now part of this amazing team and to bring on the table all my ideas and abilities. I believe that TED talks are a great way to educate and improve yourself by listening to other people and their stories and experiences. I truly believed that communication, education and the ability to share emotions and sensations are what make us truly human and differentiate us from any possible machine or animal.

Jonas is a part of the Partnership team and a photographer for TEDxOdense.

I love the idea that you can spend fifteen minutes watching a TED talk on your phone in the bus, and suddenly you have been introduced to a whole new world by a dedicated person, and out of nowhere you have learned something captivating or fascinating that you would have never even thought of before.

Eva-Maria Dietmann

Eva likes to take on new challenges even though they put her out of her comfort zone. With a huge interest in marketing, communication, other cultures and their languages she came to Odense to study her Master in Business, Language and Culture at the University of Southern Denmark. Her other passion is underwaterrugby, a sport that is yet to be famous and that has taught her a lot about team spirit, patience, creativity, and friendship.

After I saw my first TED talk I had a "little" binge watching session and was shocked how I have never heard of TED and TEDx before. When I saw the opportunity to become a member I could not resist to send out my application and was more than excited when I received the notice that I made it into the team. I am looking forward to be part of the journey and to share and develop all the great ideas into the final event.

Elisabeth Renée Foged Sejbak

Copywriter

Elisabeth is finishing a BA in Psychology at SDU. She was born and raised in Odense and is thus the only local to the marketing team. In her spare time she’s a dancer in the Odense-based dance troupe Foxy Ladies. Her interest in language was cultivated through a love of learning and devotion to fiction. She spent a year living and studying in the US and thus speaks and writes both Danish and English equally fluently.

I feel as though I’ve always known of TED, but I actively took an interest in TED-talks after reading The Third Door by Alex Banayan - a book that made me think of how one person can impact others. TEDxOdense seemed the obvious place to seek out, and I took a leap of faith and applied to be this year’s copywriter adamantly claiming I’m a self-taught multilingual grammar nerd.

Kimberly is a Masters graduate of International Security and Law. Known to her family as “The Peacemaker”, she is committed to making a difference in people’s lives through her passion for justice, human rights, and the law. She loves to share ideas and innovative solutions about how we all can contribute to making the world a better place.

I have been in love with TED since 2006. In 2011, I saw Brene Brown’s talk about the Power of Vulnerability and her follow-up talk, in 2012, Listening to Shame. Her talks inspired me to become a better and stronger version of myself. When I saw an opportunity to volunteer for TEDxOdense, I couldn’t resist wanting to be a part of what inspires people, changes them, and keeps them moving forward. TED does this for me, and now I would like to give back and help impact people’s lives in a positive way.

I love having my morning coffee with a side of TED. Getting the brain tuned in for a day of creative thinking. Being part of TEDxOdense is being part of a small, international, innovative and geeky team, working to unfold the amazing people and ideas of Odense by Odense. What's not to love?

When she is not busy with TEDxOdense and her studies, she loves to go hiking in the nature and play basketball (not at the same time obviously).

I’m so captured by the motto “Ideas worth spreading”. I believe that our knowledge of the world is expanded by constantly being open-minded, curious, critical, and best of all, when being shared. To me this is what TEDxOdense can do. It is a perfect platform to ignite debates and induce new ideas, and the speakers are adding so much to that, which is also why I’m so excited to be a part of this team.

I don't remember my first TED talk, but it was definitely way before I ever think that I could organise events at all. Since then it has always been source of inspiration, knowledge and valuable insights for me. The first thing I did when I moved to Odense was looking for what I can do besides the school and I found my old love. I hope you all will enjoy next TEDxOdense and we will do our best to bring something worthy and inspiring for you once again.

She loves to travel and juggle many projects at the same time, currently combining starting up her own marketing company, freelancing in event management, and leading the Marketing Team of TEDxOdense.

I used to watch TED Talks of speakers from all over the world, dreaming about becoming a part of this incredible community some day; dreaming of executing an event, which would inspire others as much as I have been inspired by watching the talks myself. A couple of years later, when the head organizers, Steffie and Adam, brought the first TEDx event to our local university, I knew I had to be a part of it. After working on various projects with the both of them, I also became a part of TEDxOdense. Today, I am very proud to be in a team contributing to bringing such an amazing event to the city of Odense, which reflects the local community and is devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.

I have known TED talks since I was a teenager and from that moment on, they have sparked my curiosity and have helped me see the world in a different way. But, it was only 3 years ago that I learned about the existence of TEDx events. Since then, I have yearned to be part of an organization where I could help spark the curiosity of others.

We are all hungry for good content these days, yet what good content is seems to elude many content producers - be they copywriters, video makers or speakers. So to be allowed to work with this material, filter it, shape it, and polish it until it is the best it can be - this is a dream come true. About us

What is TED

TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. What started as a conference in California in 1984 has grown to support those world-changing ideas with many initiatives.

At a TED conference the world's leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less. TED speakers have included Ken Robinson, Tony Robbins, Bill Gates, Robert Waldinger, James Cameron, Bono, Richard Branson and many more.

On TED.com, talks from TED conferences are shared with the world for free as TED Talks videos. A new TED Talk is posted every weekday. Through the Open Translation Project, TED Talks are subtitled by volunteers worldwide. Through our distribution networks, TED Talks are shared on TV, radio, Netflix and many websites.
